Designer spotlight

In 2015, we took our first steps in the design tableware industry with a personal desire to create a minimalistic and understated collection. This stood in contrast to the ornate pottery of VAIDAVA CERAMICS, which had been a part of my childhood. The result was the Earth collection - a brand-new offering. We deliberately chose to leave the striking red hue of the Lode clay exposed on the outside, injecting a fresh perspective into the widely recognized terracotta technique. For the glaze on the inside, we drew inspiration from nature's palette to complement the Latvian red clay. Our Earth collection was recognized as a finalist in the Latvian Annual Design Awards 2017, which marked the beginning of our journey into the world of design products.

Raw materials

We use locally sourced Latvian red clay. Its distinctive red color is caused by iron oxide in the clay. The clay is known for its exceptional quality and has been prized by potters and ceramics artists for centuries. It is also highly durable and resistant to heat. Although a popular choice for brick-making, with our innovation the red clay has transformed into a unique and durable tableware.

Craftsmanship and technique

Our technique has been passed down to us by our ancestors along with the appreciation of the art of pottery. Each piece is crafted by hand, resulting in unique and durable tableware, that’s unmatched by mass-produced alternatives.
