TABLEWARE CARE AND MAINTENANCE
For over 30 years, we have been handcrafting excellent ceramic tableware. The clay body we make it from has been refined over the years, so it is clear that our dishes are durable. However, it's worth remembering that they are meant to serve food rather than cooking. At first glance, the difference may seem insignificant, but when comparing the lifetime of dishes used in one way or another, the difference is measurable in years.
Use Vaidava Ceramics tableware in the way it is intended for and it will not only serve one generation in your family.
Can Vaidava Ceramics tableware go in the microwave and oven?
Yes. It is microwave safe and oven safe up to 200 ° C. Always be careful to avoid temperature shocking ceramics from extreme cold to hot. Ceramics should be heated slowly and evenly. We recommend caution with oven use. Place the ceramic piece in a cool oven and bring up to the temperature of the oven no higher than 200 ° C. Never place a ceramic directly into a hot, pre- heated oven!
Can I put Vaidava Ceramics tableware on the stove?
No. Vaidava Ceramics tableware is not intended for use on the stove. Abrupt change in temperature by placing the dish on the cooker ring can cause thermal shock and damage it. No exceptions - no gas, electric or induction cookers are suitable for Vaidava Ceramics tableware. This restriction also applies to tea canisters.
Can Vaidava Ceramics tableware go in the dishwasher?
Yes. When washing dishes, we recommend avoiding abrasive dishwashing detergents as they can cause wear as a result. And as a green-minded company, we recommend choosing eco- friendly products. Let's save nature!
How to handle Vaidava Ceramics wooden dishes and utensils?
Wooden dishes and utensils should be laundered after use with a damp cloth, that's all. They cannot be soaked, washed or placed in a dishwasher.
What to do if the cutlery has left traces on ceramic tableware?
An interesting fact is that the ceramic glaze is stronger than the soft metals. And the traces left by the cutlery are just a metal deposit on the glaze, not a change in its structure. To remove sediment, use a product containing oxalic acid, such as Bar Keepers Friend, or wash thoroughly with a dish sponge's rough side. Never use a metal sponge.
Can stains occur on Vaidava Ceramics dish glaze?
If the food in the container is stored for a long time, sometimes stains may occur on the glaze, especially with sour or colourful food, such as beet root. Always remember that Vaidava Ceramics dishes are designed for serving food rather than storing. However, if there is a stain on the dish, we recommend that you wash it thoroughly with a dish sponge’s rough side or with a product containing oxalic acid.
Can stains occur on the surface of unglazed Vaidava Ceramics tableware?
Vaidava Ceramics collections have dishes that are not glazed on the outside. They are especially polished, so the clay pores are closed, and these dishes are more durable to moisture and stains than the usual unglazed pottery. However, be sure to avoid situations where the exterior of the dish touches oily or colourful food for a long time.
We warranty all our tableware for up to 2 years for defects in manufacture. If you encounter an issue with your Vaidava Ceramics dishes, please email about the situation or call us and we will help resolve the issue.
Do Vaidava Ceramics tableware contain harmful ingredients?
No. No harmful ingredients, including lead and cadmium, are present in our tableware. Every piece of Vaidava Ceramics tableware is made right here - at our factory in Vaidava, and we are fully familiar with the materials and processes used. Product testing is rigorous and we significantly exceed the European Union safety standards.
Some of my Vaidava Ceramics dishes do not look exactly alike. How can it be?
All our tableware is handcrafted. This is why minor irregularities of the form, clay tone and glaze colour may occur. And that is what we celebrate. Such slight natural variations remind of the authenticity of our tableware. And each piece is carefully inspected to ensure that it lives up to our high standards as well as those our customers expect.
